Zebra BI Charts visual includes a built-in CAGR arrow that captures the compound annual growth rate across the displayed time range.
The CAGR arrow (Compound Annual Growth Rate arrow) is a visual indicator that shows the consistent rate at which a metric (like revenue, users, or sales) has grown over a period of time. Instead of focusing on year-by-year fluctuations, the arrow highlights the underlying growth trend as a single, annualized percentage.

How to add CAGR arrow to an existing visual
- Add a Zebra BI Charts visual to the canvas
- Insert a field into the Category placeholder and one measure in the Values placeholder
- Enter the Annotation layer in Zebra BI Charts

Conclusion
CAGR is far more than just a financial metric—it’s a strategic lens through which businesses can assess long-term performance with clarity. Whether evaluating investment returns, tracking revenue growth, forecasting market trends, or benchmarking across business units, CAGR offers a simple yet powerful way to measure consistent progress over time. Its ability to smooth out short-term volatility makes it indispensable in strategic planning, investor reporting, and financial modeling. While not suited for every situation—especially those involving short-term or highly volatile data—CAGR remains one of the most reliable indicators for understanding sustained growth in a world increasingly focused on long-term value creation.
